Azerbaijan is one of Georgia's five main trade partners, Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia said at the 10th session of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Economic Commission, APA reports.

The head of government emphasized that Azerbaijan is one of Georgia's most important strategic partners: "In the context of regional cooperation, it is important to ensure the successful operation of energy and transport routes, resolve existing conflicts and promote security in the region. Today, we will naturally focus on existing economic, trade, energy and transport projects and their importance. These economic projects significantly increase the attractiveness of our countries. Azerbaijan has been among the top five trade partners for our country in the past few years. In this regard, Azerbaijan is one of Georgia's most important strategic partners. We are implementing important regional projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum gas pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Southern Gas Corridor projects, the "Middle Corridor" project, as well as the Black Sea submarine cable project. We must direct our joint efforts towards ensuring and promoting energy security and energy independence," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
