Azerbaijan hands over internationally wanted Indian citizen to Monaco

Azerbaijan has extradited an internationally wanted individual to Monaco, the Prosecutor General's Office stated, APA reports.

A citizen of the Republic of India, Rathore Devanshu, born in 1991, who was internationally wanted by the law enforcement authorities of the Principality of Monaco for alleged economic crimes, was handed over to Monaco following a request submitted by the competent authorities of the Principality.

The request from the authorities of the Principality of Monaco for the extradition of Rathore Devanshu, a 1991-born citizen of the Republic of India, who was internationally wanted by Monaco's law enforcement agencies and accused of committing crimes economic crimes, was submitted by the Prosecutor General's Office to the Baku Court on Grave Crimes for consideration.

The mentioned person was identified in Azerbaijan in June 2024 and was placed under pretrial detention.

In accordance with the European Convention on Extradition and its Additional Protocols, a decision was made to extradite the convict. Under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, the individual was handed over to the authorities of the Principality of Monaco.
