Azerbaijan grants citizens over 21 right to acquire civilian firearms

Citizens who have reached the age of 21 in Azerbaijan will have the right to acquire civilian firearms, APA reports.

This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the law "On Service and Civilian Weapons" that was discussed at today's meeting of the Defence, Security and Counter-Corruption Committee of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).

According to the current law, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of eighteen under the requirements of the law have the right to acquire civilian weapons. 

According to the draft law, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of eighteen in the Republic of Azerbaijan will have the right to acquire civilian weapons, except for firearms. Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have reached the age of twenty-one are granted the right to acquire civilian firearms.
