Between January and November of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 391 tons of lamb (sheep meat) worth USD 1 million 564 thousand from Mongolia, APA-Economics reports.
According APA-Economics' calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, the import of meat from Mongolia has increased by 19.5 times compared to the same period of the previous year. In the same period of the previous year, only 20 tons of lamb were imported into the country.
During the reporting period, the average import price of lamb brought to Azerbaijan from Mongolia was AZN 6.8.
Note that during the first 11 months of last year, the total volume of exports from Mongolia to Azerbaijan was USD 1 million 604 thousand, while the volume of exports from Azerbaijan to Mongolia was USD 136.3 thousand.
During this period, Azerbaijan’s main exports to Mongolia included chocolate and chocolate products, bakery products, apples, and kerosene fuel for jet engines.
